TOYOTA 2L fuel consumption

hey everyone , i would like to know what kind of fuel consumption to expect from a 2L diesel engine in a 4x4 hilux. its the first series 2L the one with rocker arms/ tappets. 10km/L good for town usage?

I cannot speak definitively about diesels, but IMO 10km/lit is very good if you take into account the heavy SFA body that's built as aerodynamically as a brick combined with an old tech motor. Lets see what the diesel heads say. :winkx:

I have a client and friend who owned two hiluxes with the 2l engine in them.One was a single cab 2wd long wheel base which gave him an average of about 11 km/l.
The other was a single cab 4x4 and he averaged about 8,5 km/l.In fact he still has this vehicle with about 800k on the clock and still running strong.
The injectors and pump has been done I think twice but the engine has never been opened.

10km / l for a SFA is very good.
Compared to the petrol cousin who gets about 5 - 6 km / l...

The 10km / L is D4D range.. just that kidney damage though :mocking:

Thank you all for the info, think mine gives about 6.5 km/L, will have to check the timing, ive already changed the nozzles
