Revolver Shackles double lock type

Post by SYRON CONVERSIONS »

Have you ever considered to rather fit some of these revolver shackles to your vehicle.

Positive Aspects:

More articulation at the rear axle.
The wheels are on the ground more, thus more traction.
Better than using dropped shackles, give more drop.
They are greasable.
Can be lock up in place when not needed or when you are driving your vehicle on tar roads.
Have a double twist system in their design, thus they prevent the rear spring packs from twisting too much, thus the rear spring packs will last longer.

Negative aspects:

Are expensive to buy, the pair that I have at the rear of my Hilux cost me
R4 000. for the two.

You will have to buy longer shocks if you fit them at the rear.
Depending which rear shackle hanger brackets your vehicle has fitted, you might have to cut off the existing brackets and fit some correct ones that you can get from the same supplier of these revolver shackles.
You will have to check and adjust your propshafts lengths.
