Re: Heater valve
Does the cable throttle still move? Guess that will be the true test of whether it works or not.
Simon, if you are looking at this, will this work for me? No leaks or anything at the bushes or whetever they are called?
Andrew, will PM you tomorrow.

Re: Heater valve
FD it might still work, "never judge a book by it's cover."
Better to have it as a spare than have nothing, you could also just carry two bolts and hose clamps as well.
How much do you want for it and what other Hilux spares do you have, what cab is the vehicle in this photo, single or double, is it also for sale?
Thank's :)

Re: Heater valve
Hi F_D
Sorry, no luck with the heater valve. When I stripped it, it was all rusted with holes everywhere.
Valve did not move either.

Re: Heater valve
You get a black plastic type on the newer SFA Hilux's and then on the pre 1995 models you get the steel type like in the first photo, belive me, for peace of mind, rather just buy a new one from the agents, an engine is worth much more than the price of this item, this is why I replaced mine with a new one.
Andries took the old one and stripped it, then gas welded all the rust holes, machined it and gave it back to me, however it is in the vehicle for a spare, I do not trust it.
Andries also told me that the City Golf type will also work, you just have to modify the cable.

Re: Heater valve
Hi Simon,
If the newer one does fit, then I will go this route. I currently have a Golf valve in (R85 from AutoZone), but there is not enough travel with the cable and it will either not open fully, or shut off fully, depending on how the cable is installed.
I will price a new one from Toyota.
