Re: RWC
TyresI know about:
brakes (Hand & Foot brakes, mosrt Hiluxes battle with the handbrake. Have it adjusted first)
lights (Stop, parking, Mains & Dims)
oil leaks (Not a LR )
safety equipment
Wipers
Wheel Alignment
Steering gear play (including ball joints etc)
road test the car
original steering wheel
exhaust leaks
windscreen condition
Do what I did... put a GPS in a prominent place (I had a 276C on the steering column, very prominent!). They get so fascinated by the GPS telling them where to go etc that they seem to forget about everything else ;)

Re: RWC
Hi Luke!
Not much to add to FD's list except the .....HOOTER!
Had to replace ours just before the RWC.
Good luck, its a nice feeling driving out if you get through unscathed. (Our Hilux actually had a damaged rubber boot along the hand brake cable, but they took pity on us :D and sent us on our way)

If you can, steam clean everything so it looks new. Visual impressions in my experience help you alot.
The guy who did mine kept asking if I want to sell, what a nice vehicle etc.
I agree with the diversion tactics

Re: RWC
Have the Drag link play checked, they failed me on that, was just a matter of taking out the split pin, loosen the Castle nut, turn up the play and tighten nut and pin.
Oh yes, check that all your seatbelt release buckles are working in the rear aswell,
I had to go home, spray some WD40 in the one and return, to much Dust was in it.
Then very important, if you have Spots on the car that cannot operate independantly from the
Brights via seperate switch, take the lamps off or change the wiring. I disconnected mine, even took out the replay and they told me if the lights are on the car working or not, they must work.
Obviously check that all chassis en engine are cleary visible, sometime black rubberiser is covering the number on the chassis, if mem serves correctly its stamped on the chassis visible from under the right front wheel arch.
Some testing stations will give you lip even if theres a difference on braking power on the rear wheels as they are tested independantly on the rollers.
Best is take the plunge and see what they come up with, think you'll have 2 weeks to rectify and take it back for Free check, dont have to pay again.
Oh yess, another one is make sure all your pedals has rubbers on.
Good luck and let us know.
