Makers of Tonneau Covers?

Hi Guys,

I've had no luck in finding a 2nd hand tonneau cover for my IFS D/C. Do any of you perhaps know of a manufacturer in or around CT that could perhaps make one for my bakkie?

I got mine made by a company in Montague Gardens... give me a mo... I'll find the details... they made the one that's on Bolt at the mo!

Toyota quoted me R1200 Incl. VAT for the whole package(cover, rod, slider, rope and clips)

Hmmm... Flexi-cover quoted me R960 incl vat + R185 fitment.
Maybe I should try Toyota as well.

IIRC I paid R 600 for the whole package from Flexi Covers... Buff give Reyno a call at imperial toyota in Brackenfell, 021 980 0500 or from 1 Nov... 021 982 2080, he can give you a price on the original Toy cover!

The Flexi-Cover i got 3 years ago is lasting really well... still looks new, when I give it a good clean!

With regards to tonneau covers...

I bought mine on gumtree (was about R300) for a brand new cover in mint condition. Look around there are bargains to be had! Just be a bit patient - I found mine after 3 months.

Contacted flexi-covers (Sandy is a wonderful, helpful person!) Bought the alu strip (that the front of the cover slides into) and the 2 plastic pieces that the metal hoop fits into from them - can't remember the price, but it was very reasonable!

BTW a COLT (I dare say it!) "hoop" (The metal bar that fits from side to side and stops the cover from sagging in the middle) fits 100% and the last time I bought one it cost something silly like R29 from Mitsubishi?! It also looks better as I have always felt that the Toyota one sits to high and looks odd!

Toyota also quoted me something crazy (over R900) for the "KIT" - which is just the cover, the "hoop" and the alu strip (and guess what - it does NOT fit itself!)

My 2c worth.

Thanks Theunis. There's a couple of chancers out there as well. One oke on gumtree wants R750 for his 2003 cover :roll:
