Long range swop (Kzn)

Hi All

I am about to upgrade my existing 2009 Hulux for the 2012 shape -

I need to move my long range tank to the new vehicle, is this a simple job or do I need to take it to a fitment center to do the job.

Does any one know of any instruction manual that is available?

Hi Neil, you have to look into the following:

They usually cut into the filler pipe approx. 15cm from the neck. (You would want to swap the 2009 and the 2011 around.) taking the one from the previous vehicle.

The other issue is there is a gravity feed pipe from your existing LR tank to your main tank, which would not be standard on your 2011 model.

So if you are a bit of a handy-may, you should not have a problem, otherwise pay the R500.00 odd rands and have it done

The best instruction manual is named "Hilux4x4 Forum"

I'd say if you're a confident DIY'r, do it yourself it is simple pipe work, nothing to it, just keep fire hazards
in mind seeing that you're working with fuel lines.

Fitment of the tank to the new Hilux shouldn't be a problem either, modified mounting brackets are easy to make and you only have three pipes to modify, breather, filler and gravity feed, that's it.
