The best for the gearbox: Castrol BOT 130, a bit expensive, or Shell spirax 80w90

Transfer box: Shell Spirax 80w90

Diff's: Shell spirax 85w140

Hoppy

Maak dit saak of dit gl 4 of gl 5 is?
Ek het gehoor mens moet nie gl5 in die ratkas gooi nie, maar moet gl5 in die transfercase en diffs gooi....

Wat is jou opinie hieroor?

Dankie

Don't forget to get a price from Toyota because for my SFA they were R10.00 per 500Ml cheaper the from enywhere else. I don't know if that is the case with the KZTE.
Just because it says "4WD" doesn't make it an off-road vehicle.

Oh crap. I see now the mechanic that changed to gearbox oil seals refilled it with
Castrol EPX 80W90 GL5

Another 200 bucks down the recycling company.

Is GL 5 OK for the Transfer case, or must I drain this as well?

Went and checked the owners manual - Toyota specifies GL5 for the gearbox (G52 4x4 5 speed) and diffs

Now I feel better :D

I'll have to look in my hilux's manual...I also have it as 80W90 GL4 for the gearbox & txfer...

EP or EPX 90 GL5 front diff & 85W140 rear

I used Castrol which is a brown oil; I see Mayfair put a red oil into the box after replacing the cluster
