Why hi-lift jacking points?

Hi guys just need some insight, I just got myself a hi-lft jack, great piece of equipment.
My ARB bumper has the jacking points for a standard hi-lift jack foot, the rear does not but the jack does work on the standard tubular bumper.

My question why does everyone add those round jacking points to their vehicle and the adapter to the jack. What are the uses or is it for safer use?

They are used so the vehicle doesnt get damaged when it falls off the H/L jack..
