Molopo Nature Reserve, Mabuasehube & KTP

Hi all,
Was in Molopo, Mabuasehube and Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park for a few days.
The Hilux's EFI behaved itself!!
The Kalahari is green and the game is fat.
Saw some lion, a cheeta feeding and some other interesting stuff. Also got rained on in Mata-Mata, I guess that doesn't happen too often.
Sumary: 2 nights in Molopo. Saw eland, ostrich, kudu, springbok, rooibok and gemsbok. Also bakoorjakkals and nightjars. One can go for night drives on your own. Got a puncture on the bad road to Molopo
3 nights in Mabua (Khiding Pan). Totally isolated. No water. Brown hyena. Kwaai! Other people had lions playing in their campsite.
1 night Matopi. Saw lions on the road. Again totally isolated. No facilities whatsoever.
2 nights Rooiputs. Not so isolated but also very nice.
Last 2 nights at Mata-Mata. Rain and wind the first night, interesting. Saw herds of springbokke, gemsbokke, hartbeeste, blou wilde beeste, ostriches etc. Pufadder in the road.
Not lekka at work :-((

Ek sukkel baie met die fouties, sal later weer probeer.
Kostes aan die Bots kant (Mabua) is P20 pppd "conservation fees" en P 30 pppd "camping fees". Kinders onder 12 is halfprys. Die bakkie was nog so P24.
Kostes vir die SA kant is op sanparks.org.
Molopo kostes is R60 pppn en R 30 pppn vir kinders 7 -11. Toegand R25 en R15 eenmalig.

Chris hoe het julle bespreek aan die botswana kant ek wag nou al n week om te hoor hoeveel ek moet betaal en wanneer?

Ek het maar gebel: 00 267 3180774 en toe het hulle vir my e-mail gestuur so 'n paar dae later. Mabua en KTP is nog die enigste parke in Bots wat relatief bekostigbaar is, daarom moet mens maar vroeg bespreek.

Yes, they are working on the road, so the official detour is from TR on the Mata-Mata road and then over the dunes again, till you get to the original road at Kei-Kei. Rooiputs residents can use the road on the Bots side.

Nee wat, dis sommer 'n super mik-en-druk (Canon S3). Die cheeta het langs die pad gelê, seker so 8 - 10 meter van ons af, met 'n groot zoem lens sou mens die stof op sy snorbaarde kon afneem....
Ek is nie 'n fotograaf nie, probeer net altyd afneem om die herinneringe op te roep.

Something interesting: look at the backside of the springbok, some koringkrieke also enjoying the meat!
