2 x 4's can drive in the sand but you have to be careful not to wheel spin. The guys in Malongane drop the pressure down to .8 bar to increase the foot print and remember not to brake hard in the sand, rather slow down to a stop and the pull off slowly. If your tyres are smooth you will battle.
Worry about the things you can do something about, If you can't don't worry.
