fun in Lesotho

Post by Sebata »

so the past weekend myself, Donkey(Tumelo) & 7 seven other cousins, decided to invade 7 get up to mischief :celebrate: where else but in Matukeng(Lesotho) our home town :celebrate: , while Donkey & the others were busy suckling on the mothers milk :drinks:, i decided to tackle the newly & still under construction route that goes up the mountain :celebrate: , word has it that the village chief is planning to turn the area into a more tourist attraction with adventure activities & a 4x4 route with picnic area somewhere on the mountain... here are few photos that the guys took & on one pic you'll see a Mitsubishi Triton, battling to get to where i got without hassles, :celebrate: the poor guy battled to make a u-turn so he can glide down with his tail b2n his legs  :taunt:

The whole trip was because of the unveiling at one of our cousin's place, we arrived Saturday morning around 04:30 and had an awesome drive there. Just before sunrise there was a bit of life and fires were started prior to the service. Women prepared porridge and so on, while others were getting ready.

Around 07:30 the procession went to the graveyard less than 200m away and after the headstones were blessed we made our way back home for a short service. Less than an hour later food was served and we spent the rest of the day catching up with the family and some other cousins we were with.

Later in the afternoon we took a walk to the king just to go greet which was literally next door, simple hard working man this king, we found him busy up in the mountain working and I suppose excited about the upcoming tourist attraction Tau mentioned. After a few brief moments we were back home planning the events of the evening. This time the Donkey was sipping on pure Mother's Milk (Maluti) instead of his normal Castle Lites, and wow what an evening! :celebrate:

looks like fun was had as well as fulfilling family duties. One must never forget ones roots and family. the youngsters of today could learn a thing or two by sticking to those values.
incidentally, what is the latest with stone throwing in Lesotho. some friends of mine where exposed to this rather shocking affair a few months ago. Is it isolated or common ?

Looks like you guys had an enjoyable weekend despite the reason for the get-together.

Oh, give that poor bull in the first pic some decent grazing .... poor bugger's ribs are about to break through his hide! :D:

@ Buks .... Tumelo never combs his hair .... that's why he always hides it under that hat that has sunglasses growing out the front!

P.S. Like the 'Basuto blanket' .... I have one still from my boy-scout days and even use it at times when it's very chilly, in much the same way as in your pic. ;-)
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

Life is like a jar of Jalapeño peppers ... what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.
Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.
It's not about waiting for storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
And be yourself ..... everyone else is taken!

Been going home for as long as I can remember, never had an incident of such, so to me I only started hearing about it on this forum. So I guess we could say isolated.
