2014 December Bostwana/Namibia

Post by mcw »

14 December 2014 3 families left for the Zanzibar border post from Panorama N1 at 4:00AM.
we crossed the Limpopo river at aprox 10:00am. We were the only vehicles the border post and made it through without much ado.
Our first stop was at Selebi-Phikwe for Fuel. then on to Serowe for Meat and Groceries at the Spar. Meat was not to great especially the boerewors. Our first camping stop over was Khama Rhino Sactuary where we met more Hi-Lux members. Nice ablutions, Plenty hot water just a little dark. We spent the afternoon at the watering hole.

Day two

Our aim was to reach Kukonje island on the pans using a two cut lines approx. 100kms
we did not succeed as we were stopped by a river that had to much black mud on the approach
spent the night in the cut line ,very wet weather and some decent fun in the mud yippee. next day went to Nata Lodge

We left the cutline for Nata Lodge where we spent two nights and went to the Bird Sanctuary to see if we could get to viewing post ,to look at pelicans. Lodge is really beautiful with good ablutions and lovely pool under shade trees, had some dry weather to dry clothing etc

Ek moet se die Caprivi strip was n groot teleurstelling vir my.

Die rivier was turf onder so traksie was min.

T$A het my nie baie ander keases gegee nie. Die gewone kaart op my GPS genoeg detail volgend my.

Daar bly n paar boesmans, by water gate, die res is net net sand.

Hi Nick

I think the BF's mud performed very well but I can not say it would have been better than the STT's because I never owned a set.
