Van Zyls pass- Namibia

Whenever reading about van Zyls pass the direction of travel is always down the pass and not up. Is it not possible to drive up the pass?
Obviously I have never been there. :drool:

Yes, but at some places it would not be easy. And if you encounter some from the top it could be problematic to cross at some places. The gentlemen's rules is not to do it, causing too much damage also at some sections.

Wel, ek gaan drie weke weg wees en as ek 3000(of meer) kiekies kan neem sal ek baie bly wees.....ek sal probeer om 'n nice trip report te doen :thumbup: :thumbup:

Ian it is possible as is just about everything else, but it is not allowed due to the damage this does to the trail...
There was talk that the trail was to be closed a while ago as there were people who insisted on doing it from west to east. This will be detrimental to the whole 4X4 Community, so please don't try doing it the wrong way...

Its a public road , and only the Namibian Roads Authority can decides on that, which I doubt if the will do it ever. They don't maintain that roads so they will not be concern. And its possible that the local may object also.

But as said rather do it east to west, and keep all the Saffers happy.
