Got the front section of the exhaust done today. Have connected it to the old back section and will take it in to finish it off when the truck is driveable again. My pipe bender is only for heavy duty pipe and cannot bend the rear section at home. Those 90 deg bends I had bent in town.Still waiting for the starter motor to finish the engine mountings. The problem of living in the place where I live.

Got the engine mounts finished today. cleaned up the chassis and undercoated it with MS primer. Just the front part of the chassis, will still do the rest.

Today I stripped the chassis and cleaned it up with a wire brush and sanded all rust spots to bare metal. Under coated it with MS5 primer and painted it with stone chip. Still need to do underneath. Fitted new second hand rear leaf springs and new shocks. Will do the front next weekend. the front springs are retensioned with an extra leaf in. The rear were only retensioned. They lifted the truck by 50 mm at the rear, shows how pap mine were. Will see how they last,( dont have money for an upgrade at the moment).

Looking good Roger. Those rear leaf packs don't look like they've undergone a heat "re-tensioning" ...... did you have them re-shaped (cold press)? Cold press is still the best option - my Lux still stands level after a couple of years after doing it myself. :winkx:

I am not sure Andy. I bought the set with new shocks from some ou for R1000 about 2 years ago. Have not had time to fit them before now. He was on the forum, said the set up was too hard for his liking and fitted something else. So we will see what they feel like, I am not too worried about being too hard.

My spasie is ook beperk so ek moet iets doen en klaar kry. Ek moet eers die chassis uit vat om die spuit werk te doen.

Last weekend I fitted the front leaf springs and shocks. ( no pics yet) :shh: They also lifted the chassis by 50 mm. Today I sanded the back doors and under coated them. Next weekend I will do the front doors, then finish them together.

Have been doing a few small things since I last posted. Fitted the vents and scoop, still need to finish them off. Has been so hot here, only been working in the mornings. Got my paint yesterday, my hands were so itchy this morning that I sprayed the engine bay just to check the colour. :laugh2:

Sprayed the cab today and the cover plate for wipers. Few small places that I am not happy with.

Done a bit over the last 2 weeks. Painted the cab floor and wheel arches black stone chip. Started refitting a few odds in engine bay. Today I sprayed the doors. Will continue when I come back from leave.
