IFS Replacement Bumper

Post by louis fourie »

Ek is bevrees my ontwerp is dalk 'n bietjie sterk  .

Looks really great!

How much do you expect the bumper to increase the length of your Hilux?

I have a friend of a friend who works at a metal works company in Centurion with all the fancy equipment and lazer tools etc and has offered to build me an off-road bumper as I am useless at metal-work :) I have to supply the measurements, details and templates. Would you be prepared to share your templates with me?

Alternatively, is there a place I could download templates?

How much do you expect the bumper to increase the length of your Hilux?

I have a friend of a friend who works at a metal works company in Centurion with all the fancy equipment and lazer tools etc and has offered to build me an off-road bumper as I am useless at metal-work :) I have to supply the measurements, details and templates. Would you be prepared to share your templates with me?

Alternatively, is there a place I could download templates?
Tertius & Michael

You guys must please be patient. You are a little early for me. My idea is at this stage to sell a DIY kit, i.e all parts cut and bend, put in a box, and courier where ever you are and you assembly/weld together.

Michael

The bumper will increase the length with 120mm minus the current ±100mm of the existing bumper is 20mm

Hier is 'n paar foudies.

Daar is fotos so 'n bietjie boontoe.

Jy verstaan verkeerd, dit lyk baie goed, ek wil net nie he jy moet dieselfde foute as ek maak nie, dis maklik om nou te verander, maar as hy eers klaar is, is dit n ander storie.

Wat sou jy sê is 'n aanvaarbare gewig vir so 'n bumper?

Hi Louis
Have done the same to my 2011 Hilux Onca/ARB ala Home-made 57Kg complete with 12000lbs Winch.

It started of with ambition and not a budget to spend R17 000.00 on a commercial unit available. With powder-coating and the winch total R7500.00.
Made a drawing on MS Visio, converted it to a Cardboard model with template. Assembled the template and fitted it to the front end, made some alterations and saved the model. Developed all the bits and part to a flat sheet 3mm mils steel (1250x2000). Lots of cutting, welding and grinding. I will post some pictures of the process all the way to the end product.
