Hi almal.
Ek wil my eie aliminium canopy bou. Wat moet ek voor uit kyk? Wat is die slag gate? Aliminium raam of staal raam? Enige raad?

More Johan

As jy kan hou by aluminium raam en plaat dit werk nie maklik nie want jy het die regte gereedskap nodig.
Kyk of jy nie daar by julle iemand kan kry wat jou weld werk kan doen as jy nie self die masjien het nie

Aluminium is lighter with less maintenace once completed. Just build shelves in which you can fit plastic boxes that slide in, biggest at the bottem & smallest on top. Cover with doors. Frige freezer in front end of canopy. Get ideas from Alu-cab in CT. Ask them to show you around...

But steel isn't that much heavier if you build it sensibly. My father and I could quite easily lift off my steel canopy with alu cladding. Also, if the steel frame breaks in the middle of nowhere you will find someone with an old welder who can weld it for you, you're not going to find a TIG welder anywhere outside of major centers. I've even seen a guy welding with the cable wrapped around an engine block...
Happy trails
Nic
