Got the front section of the exhaust done today. Have connected it to the old back section and will take it in to finish it off when the truck is driveable again. My pipe bender is only for heavy duty pipe and cannot bend the rear section at home. Those 90 deg bends I had bent in town.Still waiting for the starter motor to finish the engine mountings. The problem of living in the place where I live.

Got the engine mounts finished today. cleaned up the chassis and undercoated it with MS primer. Just the front part of the chassis, will still do the rest.

Today I stripped the chassis and cleaned it up with a wire brush and sanded all rust spots to bare metal. Under coated it with MS5 primer and painted it with stone chip. Still need to do underneath. Fitted new second hand rear leaf springs and new shocks. Will do the front next weekend. the front springs are retensioned with an extra leaf in. The rear were only retensioned. They lifted the truck by 50 mm at the rear, shows how pap mine were. Will see how they last,( dont have money for an upgrade at the moment).

Looking good Roger. Those rear leaf packs don't look like they've undergone a heat "re-tensioning" ...... did you have them re-shaped (cold press)? Cold press is still the best option - my Lux still stands level after a couple of years after doing it myself. :winkx:

I am not sure Andy. I bought the set with new shocks from some ou for R1000 about 2 years ago. Have not had time to fit them before now. He was on the forum, said the set up was too hard for his liking and fitted something else. So we will see what they feel like, I am not too worried about being too hard.

My spasie is ook beperk so ek moet iets doen en klaar kry.

Safely back from leave. It is very hot here at the moment, been between 40 and 45 this last week, so only done a few small odds. Stripped the motor, sent the crank in for grinding and git it back yesterday. Forgot to send in the conrods for small end bushes, took them in yesterday. Will start assembly when I get them back. Fitted lights, and a few bits of trimming.

Are you going to gasflow the intake manifold? Apparently therin lies a lot of power and some decent fuel savings.

Been very hot here by us in the last month, top temp of 45. Started cleaning and spraying interior plastics. Tried this product, will see if it lasts and how good it is. Also fixed the covers that go on the center pillars between the doors.

So this weekend I assembled the sub ass. Still have to do the heads. I want to fit the motor next weekend, will finish the heads and fit when motor is in. Is a bit of a schlep to do the torques all by yourself. Only work in the mornings at the moment, still too hot.

Getting there bit by bit, looking good!

Roger, as far as aerosol paints are concerned, the Rustoleum products aren't bad, but for plastics and vinyl I think that "Vinylkote Formula 40" would be a better option (Google it and read the write-ups). I've used it before and it lasted well.

Been working on a bracket this week for the power steering pump. I used the old pump from the 22R. Was a bit of a tight fit but got it sorted. Will have to use an electric fuel pump. We worked this last public holiday so we are off next Friday. Am hoping to finish a few heat shield plates this week and would like to fit the cab next weekend.
