See this thread on the Community forum where recovery in reverse gear versus recovery in forward gears is discussed. Some untrue comments made in the beginning of the thread, but those at the end make perfect mechanical sense and are an enlightening read ... especially IRO newer vehicles with a weaker front wheel drive train than that of the rear wheels.
