Baboons Pass Recovery

Post by Rollercoaster639 »

I have been following this thread on the 4x4 Community forum with interest. There is two schools of thought, the one is to go recovery the Jeep now and the other is to leave the Jeep until it is safer. Both sides have valid points and I dont want to say what is right or wrong in my opinion. I ask myself only one question....If it was my bakkie stuck on the mountain what would I like to happen. No Brainer.
I wish the team a successful recovery and a safe return. It is a big ask for help especially in the winter and also financially to expect from anyone. Hats off to the volunteers.

If something like this happened to a member on this forum what would our response be. Difficult call.

I hear you Uys. I would also like to go if circumstances allowed it. I dont think that I would have much to add to the recovery as I am still very new, but in saying that I would of liked to see how it done.

From what I have read Sakkie seems like the wright person for the job.

Hats off to Sakkie! I sincerely hope all goes well for them. A snow-covered Baboons Pass in Winter temperatures is what sorts the men from the boys. Personally it would now be a no-brainer for me, buy in days gone by, who knows?

Not sure whether it's a downfall or a blessing, but I'm always ready to help someone in need if it's within my ability to do so. As Dylan puts it, if you're within range, give a call  ...... the Lux & I might not be young, but we make up for it in other ways. ;-)
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.

And be yourself ..... everyone else is taken!
