Wat 'n stunning naweek!!!! :D: :D: :D:

Mark.... congrats on that third place... brilliant driving. Was fortunate enough to see you tackle the one obsticle which originally was the progressive one.

So, what a weekend! I just attented my first Rebel4x4 event (as Blommie's navigator nogal  ) and I can tell you, it was AWESOME!!

We arrived Friday afternoon at about 15:00 and the campsite was already quite full, as scrutineering was scheduled before sunset. This went nice and smooth and we all went to bed at about 23:00 after a nice meal and good coversation around the campfire, in preperation for the big day.

Saturday morning bright and early we left for Moegatle. All the cars lined up, Marshalls and Drivers were briefed and then the day kicked off with the Production vehicles doing the Time Trial, followed by the Modifieds and finally the Supertrucks. This gave the crowd a reason to get all excited as Rollo, a Jeep in Modifieds, almost flipped because he took the crest way too fast! He made an awesome recovery from 2 wheels and the crowd went wild! Blommie also decided there was a tree in the way and chopped it down nice and cleanly with Boesman's bullbar. This was to set the tone for the day, but more about that later.

The obstacles were set out for the different classes, with each getting his own route of varying difficulty. I can tell you that you have to see where these vehicles are capable of driving. It will leave you gobsmacked!

Blommie did quite well after he settled his nerves on the first two obstacles. The amount of concentration required is almost superhuman and the stress levels off the charts! But the feeling of achievement after completing the obstacle is amplified tenfold because of this...
Adrenalin is the name of the game!

Mark "Throttleboy" did very we'll finishing 3rd in class, with Blommie (and me!) 4th. The day however was won by Lucas Holtzhausen in his little Nissan 1400... Hannes Creamsoda unfortunately lost a sideshaft halfway through (how do you break a Dana 60???? ) and had retire. As Cassie said, Ronald "Dieseldog" came a very close 2nd in the Modified class and Cassie himself finished 6th in the Production class - and that without a Navi, as Linda couldn't make it.

Well done to everybody and thank you to Lucas, Blommie and everybody that attended and took part for an awesome day. I can't wait for the next Rebel event!

Nee maar mooi man

Maar WHO CARES? So what as jy agtertoe rol en punte verloor.
