Need a new aux battery for Fortuner

Post by ronnie »

So after putting it off for some time I now need a new aux battery; current battery drops down below 12V overnight with nothing drawing power. Tried to save it with the Benton BX2 but no luck. Saw some articles which claim the Raylite MF101 is good value for money.

Any other suggestions of what to get if you don't want to break the bank? Also where would be a good place to get in Cape Town area?

Thanks

Ronnie their shop is in Brackenfell, short drive from where you are.

Good value for money batteries.

the full import batteries are possibly a slightly better buy, but at about 50% more expensive for the import models I stuck with the 4x4Direct models for a few years now.

Right now I have a very cheap battery that I use for our daily use at home - all our lights at home runs of a deep cycle battery that gets recharged the next day. CHEAP battery, but I used the best possible chargers. Now at about 500 cycles, and only reconditioned it once with the Benton BX2. When charged properly even these cheap units lasts long.

Using quality chargers with the mid range batteries that 4x4Direct sells, you should get years of trouble free use.

Hallo Chris, wat is die beste charger in die mark.
Groete daar.

laai vanaf 220V - Ek het puik diens gekry met die Benton BX2 wat Family-Dog versprei.

laai vanaf solar - Hou baie van my Victron eenheid. 4x4Direct het ook n ACDC eenheid, onthou net om die dipswitch te stel vir die regte tipe battery !!

vir gebruik IN n voertuig, SONDER pv panele - dan verkies ek die HCDP 12A eenheid

vir gebruik IN n voertuig, MET pv panele - Ctek250S is my eerste keuse. Maar as jy van voor begin, dan bied die HCDP Power Panel Mark 4 PUIK waarde vir geld !!

Thanks Chris, will pop in there. I know them well...spent a fortune on solar panels and regulators there already :shock2:

Also bought a BX2 from Eric so will keep it in tip top shape...

Hi Ronnie, did I see you there ?

The Fortuner bonnet was open, and I had to step aside as you carried out a battery ??

I was there with my nephew, spent some time showing him all the toys we play with  :cooldude:

I drove past and stopped in the 4xLux parking area, with the RAV

Make a reasonable offer, Rich. Remember to include postage. The battery manufacturer is Narada
