Teen 5k 'n event, weet ek ook nie of ek so super lus is om in te skryf nie. Dis darem bietjie styf.

The entrance fee of R4950 is a bit steep. How about a inter club challenge with a entry of say R200 and the winner is then sponsered with all the entry fees to try and win it. If he does win it we can then share in the loot......
The direct use of force is such a poor solution to any problem, it is generally employed only by small children and large nations.

Good morning fellow Hilux followers, if I may, let me explain a bit about HiluxTrophy by answering some of the posts that was posted. Also just to clarify a few points.
1. Yes it’s only for VIGO, purely to level the playing field as few of the SFA models are still standard. This normally leads to penalty systems for added on extras and in my opinion never really is fair both ways. Also VIGO has been going now for almost 9 years and we feel that there are enough VIGO’s out there that can and will compete. Lastly we all know that a SFA Hilux will probably outdo a VIGO, but this is NOT a competition for heavily modified vehicles, we know that there is already enough brilliant competitions for you guys to proof your mettle.
2.
- Jip, you are correct. Met and spoke to the guys who are organizing this event at EFS and that was said.
o See answer above..
- Vigo's only...
smaak my hul is bang mense sê hul het agteruit geboer... Hehehe.
o Might be true ! Like all things in life even Solid Axles evolve..

Dis darem bietjie styf.

Verder is daar lucky draw pryse by elke event.
 Terloops, bitter min mountain biking of trail running events bied huge pryse. Inskrywings gaan so hoog soos R25000.00 en toerusting kos selfs meer as 4x4 kit.

- Thats just bull S_-T that the older vehicles cant compete...
Whats wrong are they worried that the SFA will win and then they will need to make a NEW SFA HILUX.....
o We can only wish for that new SFA..

- The entrance fee of R4950 is a bit steep. How about a inter club challenge with a entry of say R200 and the winner is then sponsered with all the entry fees to try and win it. If he does win it we can then share in the loot.
o The entry fee gives you the following, and this ALL costs money,
 3 nights tented accommodation with camping fees included for the team
 3 Days trail fees/cost
 Prize giving lunch for the team
 4x4 Goodie bag
 Refreshments on the course
 Medical assistance with Heli Evac if needed
 24 Hr security at the venue to ensure your safety
 FULLY paid entry into the 5 day final if you progress…

Mag net olie lekkende Defenders hulle eie kompetisie he?
Kontak my gerus, inbox of op my cellfoon met voorstelle, idees goeie en slegte kommentaar. Besoek http://hiluxtrophy.co.za" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; vir details.

Correct my as ek verkeerd is asb. Dit klink vir my effens baie. Selfde prinsiep as julle.

bigger rims are a disadvantage to start off with in offroad conditions, why add penalties? on a 50mm lift you wont get enough sidewall to deflate for added traction on an 18" rim.. On a 15" rim you'll be able to fit nice high sidewall tyres, that's where the penalties should count..

I agree, that's where the experience comes in, a nice set of 32" muds on 15" rims

Agreed, but few newbies know this and anything bigger is mos always better! Nothing like a 15" Tyre with lots of air between you and mother earth!

Hi Ali3n,
My pa het altyd gese selfs negatiewe kommentaar is goeie kommentaar..

Just some thoughts.

Good afternoon Hilux aficionados, just quickly the following,
- It took Defender trophy 10 years of running to give a 90 Series away as first prize!
- And yes the entry fees is VERY high
- Spirit of Africa entry fee is R6400.00 per team, and gives a first prize of R50 000.00
- Bridgestone Club challenge gives a final first prize of a trailer worth R50 000.00
- HiluxTrophy WILL have competitive prizes – GAURENTEED!
After much deliberation we have decided to allow older model Hilux vehicles that are still mostly original. If you need more information, inbox me and I’ll explain.
Lastly, to allow for more entries, we also dropped the initial entry fee from R4950.00 per team, to what we believe a way more reasonable R3950.00 per team. :yahoo:
We trust this will entice PLENTY entries from the Hilux Club,
Riaan

No seriously, I know we can't please everyone, but at least now the older vehicles can enter, albeit with a penalty system
And definitely no V8's, shortened vehicles and the likes.
So hopefully a well piloted Vigo will still show the way !
Thanks for the encouragement...much needed today :alvarin:

That's more like it, we've just built another course for an inter club event and you can build it to favor all types of vehicles

I would realy like to compete, but i don't own a std Hilux

If Hoppy can proof that 50% of that Green Monster has original "Toyota Japan" inscriptions..he can Enter! :silent:
Seriously, as I've explained earlier, we have to draw the line somewhere..and the Monster falls on the otherside of that line
Sorry Hoppy...Maybe you can bring it along as a recovery vehicle!

Jis Riaan,

With that 50% rule Hoppy will easily be included in the competition!

Basically just the suspension is not factory Toyota;>

:surrender:
