Tell us about your favorite 4x4 trail. Tell us how easy or difficult it was, is there escape routes for the faint hearted? Please add some photographs if you can.

More than awesome! ... Mark, you're surely not running on standard axles, I'm not sure that the standard half-shafts and birfields would be able to stand up to the stresses generated in the rough with huge wheels like that. I also wanted to ask what motor you have in your truck ... IIRC you guys had the option of the 2.0 L (V6) 1VZ, 2.5 L (V6) 2VZ and 3.0 L (V6) 3VZ motors for those old models over there.
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

no, the front axle has the 30 spline longs with the hardened longs lock rings in them.
it is a 22re motor.
5 speed to dual transfercases with 4.7 gears in the rear case.
axles have 5.29 gears with detroit lockers in them.

it also has the hydro assist steering, that is how I am able to turn in that situation.
36x12.5x15 super swamper sx's for the tires.

those longs are pretty amazing.

the stock axles are good up to a 33 inch tire. after that they break pretty easy.

that is our trail called ice man.
I have posted about it before.
it is actually the trail we take new to 4 wheeling people.
there are by passes for almost every obstical.
so they can watch and try the obstical if they want.
there are usually plenty of us to help out, or recover a truck in trouble.

but we may loose the trail due to a few rare flowers that are 20 or so feet away from the trail.

we have a large club in the hills here, been around for over 30 years now.

http://www.bh4wheelers.com/

if you are bored here is the club photo gallery I am in charge of.
I hope you find it interesting and easy to get around in it.

http://www.bh4wheelers.com/photos/main.php
some of our hardest trails have pictures there.
fruity pebbles, captain crunch, got milk, t-back and bikini.

my wife and I lead the (full monkey) trail. that is made up of full size and Kong.

hope you enjoy.

Mark, have you tried approaching your nature conservation authority in the area as a club? Outline your interests in the area and identify where there are possible conflicts with their efforts. You can offer to assist as custodians of the area and perhaps erect some ranch style fencing around the flower areas where they come close to the 4x4 trail (as a club outing / project). Offer to take one or more of the conservationists with you on your next trail run so that they can witness the extent of your activity as well as give them motorised access to the sensitive areas for purpose of record keeping and research. If you don't already have this type of thing happening whereby clubs assist with nature conservation, it can become a sort of pilot project for other clubs. It also uplifts public opinion of off-road clubs, enlightening the naive that we're not just a bunch of hooligans that trample all over the ecology when we go out there.

Just a suggestion .... it works here (most of the time).

wow, I thought that there would be more comments with the movies. They add so much.

you guys off road parks look really nice. we are talking about putting in a pick nick table about half way down the iceman trail.

that is if we can keep the shelf road to it open. it is very narrow, it is about 1/2 mile to the bottom of the canyon if you slip off it.. it tips toward the canyon pretty good in several spots.

I HATE that.. I don't mind a flop on the side. but the thought of rolling down that far scares the poo out of me!!!!

Tried loading the movies, but unable to get them to play ..... maybe just my old system and technologically challenged mind. :D: Enjoyed the picture galleries though!

I am still surprised that you guys don't like this stuff more.
that many views and no new comments or questions?

here is our web site gallery with different people taking pictures of the same run.

http://www.bh4wheelers.com/photos/main. ... emId=23622" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

may go out tomorrow. easy trail with some new guys.

you guys seem to run pretty stock trucks, maybe due to your strict laws.

can you make stuff for your trucks? or dose it have to be approved in some way?
We have some states that you can not really change any thing from stock.

here in South Dakota, if it has head lights, tail lights, stops and go's you can drive it.

This is pretty awsome stuff, the guys are still 'thinking' and are mesmirzed by the awsome trucks   . Mods like these here, would cost an anr and a leg(here). There are quite a few mods similar, but far and few.
Keep em rolling, we like new idea's

those trucks were built on a gravel drive way by me. I made most of the stuff on them. Or put it to together from simple hard ware store parts.
none of this was done in a shop...

here is the build up.

viewtopic.php?f=92&t=6705

thank you for the compliment. these trucks are so easy to modify, and just tough as all get out..
