Mahem Playground - Bad News
I spoke to my brother on Friday evening and he is an architect and they are in the Pretoria area. They were approached to develop/plan something (I'm not sure if it's a housing or shopping complex) on the Mahem grounds and according to the time-scale, it seems we'll only be able to play there until the end of this year.
So, when you go there, play your heart out as we don't know how long we've got till we can't play there any more.
Sorry to have been the bearer of bad news!!!!!

Hi Herman,

Not so sure that this will happen that quickly. The Government has placed a moratorium on all new major developments for the next five years, minimum. But if they elect to go for housing, then they might proceed with it earlier.CasKru wrote:

Re: Mahem Playground - Bad News
I've spoken to my brother again this weekend. It seems that Mahem will still be available for a while. All new development has been put on hold for +- 8 months due to Eskom failures.
The land is owned by ABSA as I understand and their is evidently a few places interested in developing that peace of land.
