Hamilton Parks Country Lodge 4x4 Trails
For everyone interested in a day filled with 4x4 FUN, the Hamilton Parks Country Lodge 4x4 Trail is a must. Set in a valley in the Kiepersol area the route consists of 12 Obstacles some created by nature and other by man (and his vehicle) no bulldozers or heavy machinery has been used. Depending on the amount of vehicles on the trail it should take you about 4 - 5Hrs to complete all of the Obstacles. All 4x4 vehicles equiped with a Low Range transfer box are welcome, and recovery gear is a must!!! The trail has not officially been graded but from my experiance, I would grade it a 2-4. Accomodation is available @ the lodge, please visit http://www.hamiltonparks.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for rates and facilities. The current fee is an absolute give away or as the zulu's say Mahala.. @ R120.00 per vehicle. The trail can be driven with or without a guide, I would suggest driving with the guide as he is the one who created all of the obstacles. I have never felt as welcome at any other trail as I did at the Hamilton Parks 4x4 Trail, the people there are absolutley amazing. My overall rating on the trail is a 9/10. Anyone in the lowveld area should really take the time to visit this amazing trail, and if you are far away, I have mentioned that the lodge has plenty of room for all 4x4 enthusiast.
Here are some Pictures, only of my vehicle but I will ask Scout and CraigC to add fotos as well.

Looks promising!More pics please!
I am guessing with that amount of water you have probably had to fix your alternator by now?

You should get your van rubberized if you go into that deep water regularly.

Re: Hamilton Parks Country Lodge 4x4 Trails

Brain, I dont like the idea of rubberizing the whole cabin, looks to industrial for my liking!!! This was actually the first time the water seaped in, will remove all the seats and the vinyl floor cover and everything nicely!!!

The vinyl floor cover already help a lot!Can just use the hose pipe and hose the muck out!Just need to get waterproof seatcovers made then it would be easy!robvan87 wrote:Brain, I dont like the idea of rubberizing the whole cabin, looks to industrial for my liking!!! I dont like going that deep into water yes its fun!But too much that can break because of that.My dad had to fix his alternator 3 times because of water. And its not good for your diffs if you dont have diffbreathers installed.
But as I said water crossings is still very fun and makes for great pictures!

Re: Hamilton Parks Country Lodge 4x4 Trails
Diff breathers are fitted and the breather pipes are very high up in the bonnet, but as a rule I change all the diff oils after a trip like that. I hope the alternator doesn't pack up as it was replaced after our Mozambique trip in August last year, The tide caught us while testing the Boat at white sands, so I was forced to drive deep sea water...!!!
