Sommer-so Atlantis Dunes Trip - 19 Oct 2008

Post by ThysdJ »

At the GTG at Kriges Pub on Friday afternoon Jaco (Suidwes) mentioned something about a play in the dunes, sommer-so, no planning, nothing, he has the permits as well as min-dae in Cape Town, and he wanted to go. So I said I was in.

Sunday morning at 8 we met at the gate. 4 Hilux's (Suidwes, Bernard, Shaun, Myself), 1 Colt 2.8 tdi (Chris) , 1 Land Rover Defender tdi (Danie). Initially the weather was down right cold, and we were all a little underdressed for the occasion, but as the day wore on it became lekker hot, until the wind came up at about lunch time. Here are a few pictures of the day.

We all had a lekker time, thanks to everybody for the laughs and excitement. Jaco came up with some challenging "backroads" and some "off-the-beaten-path" obstacles, which we negotiated or found ways around. You will notice I am not using this as a platform to do brand-bashing, but let's just say the Hilux's had no need to find alternative routes.

Ek raak sommer damn jaloers as ek sien hoe lekker julle daar in die sand speel.

Glo vir my.... ek gaan plan maak en some time bietjie 'n trip soentoe maak.
