DATE 15 May 2010
Time 08H00 Please be there from 7h00. Registration will be at the main lapa from 07h00

All welcome. You will be liable for your own dewildt entry for drivers and spectators. There is nice braai facilities for afterwards and thus a family event. Competitors, please pay your entry at dewild of R160 and there will be a cover charge of R50/vehicle to pay for bannertape, nametags etc. Visitors the normal R30 at the gate as you can walk to the challenge area.

Rules as used by the 4x4 challenge. NOT NEGOTIABLE.I will gladly manage the competition if you doubt my judgement. Those not partaking are not welcome to lay an egg. There is NO prize money but an social event and the orginisers and forums are not responsible for your insurance, safety or 4x4. You will be requested to sign an indemnity at dewildt and by me.

Scoring
Scoring will be negative points and we will add your handicap afterwards.
Max points you can loose is -60/ obstacle
1] banner touch -20. and there will be a lot to force you into a line that will make it challenging
2]Rollback -10 and that includes slipping backwards
3] Abandon obstacle -60 if you dont want to do it. its your vehicle, look after it
4]gate touch -30 That is the poles before and after an obstacle
5]Driving over a gate -60

Handicap as found on 4x4 challenge site
4x2 vehicles +200
Leaves front and back 0
Torsen bars 0
Coils front -25 [incl navara, new ranger, new hilux etc]
Coils back -25
No difflock or LS +50
1 diffloc 0
2nd diffloc /ls -50
Tyre size 31" or smaller +50
Tyre size bigger than 31" but smaller than 35" 0
Tyres 35" and bigger -50
cut arches, shortened chassis and loadboxes -200

replacement bullbars, towbars, rocksliders ome/ironman susprnsion etc no penalty

General rules
vehicle must be driven to dewildt not towed
NO DRINKING WILL BE ALLOWED!!!
I will be the only one managing recoveries
only bring a good, positive attitude or stay at home.
Bad driver and co driver attitude towards any member or marshall will not be accepted.
Make sure your insurance covers you. All tuff stuff policy holders will be fully covered.
All recovery points to be fastened only by 8.8 and better bolts min 10mm

The obstacles.
1]Up rocky river rd stage 1
2]Through the rocky gauntlet
3]Up the gladde klip with water
4]Through a muddy hole out the other side....very tricky
5]follow the banner tape and do not get caught slipping into a gate. lekker twister
6]another tricky twister.
7]blindfold driving through a few cones.
8]finish through the mudhole up the other side.
9]Team tyre remove, debead with a highlift jack, rebead and put back. Team event. one point minus for every second you finish behind the other team.
10]Toutrek. who can pull the DATSUN [team] quickest over 20m

So, as I understand it then .... the de-bead / re-inflating of tyres and tug-o-war are just for the fun and that's where the Hilux team fell down. Where it really counts is driving skills and we all know that a vehicle with lockers / bigger tyres etc have advantages. Since these modifications are available to all the vehicles that took part, it boils down to the individuals financial means as to whether he can afford them or not. Financial prowess does not equate to driver skill and therefore any fair result would have to employ the handicap system. Therefore the results that really count are:

neenee, dit was n team event en die tyre change en toutrek was deel van die challenge :thumbup:

dit was nou wragtag n aangename weekend gewees en veral die wat sover gekom het. Hansen is die enigste man wat met n lekker prys [lucky draw] weg gestap het! Dit sal nie die laaste event wees nie. Ek sal hom nou al begin adverteer want dan sal ons by volgende jaar 6 Hiluxe kry wat gaan ry en nie heeldag "webwheeling" doen nie. :twisted:

Ouch... daai is 'n commin probleem met die Hilux Bumpers. Wat ek op myne gedoen het is ek het twee 50mmX5mm angle iron strips gevt en op die mounting plate van die bumper geswys sodat wanneer die bumper inplek geboud is, die angle iron teen die chassis druk en nie nog hoer kan opskyf nie. Van toe af nog nooit weer issues gehad nie

Kry vir jou die bak van die ingevoerde lux wat die ligte teen die kant sit, verander die toubaar dat sy arms reguit agter toe gaan en sny die oorhang van die bak (dis waar jou ligte nou sit) sodat die arms daar uitkom en jy het =/- 100mm meet grondfry hoogte agter.

My lux is nou wel die nuwer generasie, maar met die ingevoerde bak behoort jy min of meer die selfde kry as wat ek gekry het, die foto wys nou nie so mooi die arms wat verander is nie, maar kyk na waar joune se lifte sit sal jy sien het ek deur die bakwerk gesny en kyk na waar die ou nommerplaat gesit het teenoor die bokant van die toubaar ver hoogte wat ek gewen het.

Okay ek weet ek het gesê ek sal dit laas naweek doen maar dit het my toe heeltemal ontgaan.... :angel: :angel:

Ek dink ek sal vir eers die tipe van ding doen voor ek die bak vervang etc.

Dit lyk of dit goed kan werk!
