TTCC Charity event >R29 000 collected - 25 November 2012

Post by Die$eL »

We're very pleased to announce our next and last event for 2012, the Annual TTCC Charity Run. We're also proud to reveal that we'll be supporting creatures of the furry kind this year - abused and mistreated animals.

Barking Mad is a charity (which the Hilux club already knows well) that really does deserve all the assistance it can get. The guys that run the charity do very valuable work and they are well-known for that. For that reason (and others), it was a unanimous vote amongst the committee members to give Barking Mad our assistance in 2012. They are located on Summit Road in Midrand and we'll be doing a Breakfast Run from the Maxi's Bridge on the N1 with (hopefully) a small truck fully loaded with animal goods at the front of the convoy on the day.

We're working on the finer details at the moment but we are setting up drop-off points at Toyota dealers across Jo'burg.

We're really looking forward to the event and providing much-needed support to Barking Mad - remember, animals cannot help themselves, especially the abused kind. It's up to humans to provide the compassion and care to animals, and that compassion and care is something those animals would give to us anyday.

Details:

The organization(s) we have decided to support:
1. Barking Mad:
- an animal shelter dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming South Africa’s abandoned animals
- they also support 24 other shelters and rescue groups in their “Click to Feed” project.
- we have also undertaken to support two other very deserving organizations that Barking Mad supports (listed below)
- website: http://www.barkingmad.co.za/

2. Animal Ambulance:
- a 24 hour Emergency Centre, helping sick & abused animals
- website: http://www.animalambulance.co.za/

3. Paws ‘R Us
- an organization which dedicates their time, energy and talents towards the improvement of animal welfare structures.
- they also serve as a rescue and re-homing centre
- They unfortunately do not as yet have a website, but they do have a Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Paws-R-Us/148998991839716
