The EFS competition will be held at Moegatle. We want to enter a few teams. The teams must consist of 4 vehicles. The costs are quite steep per vehicle @ R850/vehicle if entering as a team but the prize money is well worth the risk. Each Team must enter seperately so get a team together and enter directly with them.
Team 1The year 2013 is indeed flying with one heck of a speed, which means that the annual EFS competition is but a few months away. We are planning a prestige event this year over thelong weekend 9 – 11 August 2013 at Moegatle. Like in the past the EFS competition is a fun filled, family event with challenging 4x4 obstacles (competitors will certainly work hard for the prices) and obviously with a few fun elements incorporated into the program. This year we have stacks of prices on offer (at this stage around R40 000, and growing) – so we want to attract competitors that are serious about competing against each other and who are hungry for the prices. The overall winner will walk away with a grand price of at least R15000 in total! We are also honoured to host the Export Account Manager from EFS Australia, all the way from Brisbane, as guest of honour for the event.
The brief programme is as follows:
Thursday, 8 August
• Arrive at Moegatle during the day/late afternoon/evening
• Final documentation and scrutineering of vehicles – 17H00 to 21H00 (All vehicles MUST complete the scrutineering)
• Driver and navigators briefing – 21H00 – compulsory for all competitors
Friday, 9 August
Vehicles will be split in two groups and will depart on two seperate routes from 07H30 sharp, in number sequence – vehicles will have to complete 6 obstacles for the day, do some rally mapping and complete a treasure hunt on GPS coordinates. Competitors can return to the camp after completion of the last obstacle and other tasks to relax for the rest of the day.
Saturday, 10 August
Vehicles will again depart on two seperate routes from 07H30 sharp, in reverse number sequence – vehicles will again have to complete 6 obstacles for the day, do some rally
mapping and complete a treasure hunt on GPS coordinates. Vehicles will be swopped between the two routes. Competitors can return to the camp after completion of the last obstacle and other tasks to relax for the rest of the day.
From 19H00 we will play music on a careoke set – everybody will be welcome to show off your careoke skills.
Sunday, 11 August
Price giving at 10H00 – drivers and navigators must be present at the pricegiving ceremony to claim a price.
Go home – from 11H30.
Who may enter?
Any person with a legal drivers lisence and with the neccessary knowledge and experience of off road driving may enter. All vehicles must have a crew of a driver and navigator.
Passengers are welcome, as long as all passengers can wear seat belts.
Which vehicles will be allowed?
Only street legal, registered and licensed vehicles may enter – no special modified and pipe cars will be allowed. Vehicles must preferably be fitted with a lift suspension to avoid damage.
What about penalties for difflocks and other aids?
Our usual penalties will apply – but – there will be ample opportunity to make up for the penalties by choosing the “man or mouse” obstacles. The penalty systems levels the playing field amongst different cars.
Two classes/categories
Like last year, we will have two classes, namely “Open” class, for all male/male or male/female crews and “Ladies” class – in this case both driver and navigator must be
female.
What can you expect to do?
Navigation per GPS (bring own GPS), navigation by rally map, location of treasures, bush related questions and obviously a few secret bonus points as well as six obstacles per day.
All competitors will cover two routes, one per day.
Points system
Obstacles start with 100 points – points are deducted for all track penalties and points are added for correct answers on treasures and bush questions – simple as that. The competitor with the most points will be the winner.
Team competition
This year we will introduce the team challenge as well. All competitors will compete individually, but under team colours. The total points of all team members will determine which team will win the team competition. Team members will therefore automatically compete for individual as well as team honours. Teams will be judged on team appearance and team spirit – initiatives wellcome!! Only four vehicles may be entered into a team.
Team members will participate in team colours on both the competition days, but must attend the price giving ceremony in the EFS Competition shirts, which will be handed out at registration. Any additional competitors may either compete individually or contact me to be routed to a team with vacancies.
Total competitors allowed
We can only allow 40 competitor cars/10 teams this year – entries will be handled on a ‘first come first serve’ basis.
What will it cost?
The cost for the 2013 EFS Prestige Competition will be R950 per vehicle, and R850 per vehicle for teams of 4 vehicles. This includes all track costs and an event specific shirt for both the drivers and navigators. The cost of camping and/or other accommodation must be communicated directly with Alex or Betsie at Moegatle.
Closing date
The closing date for entries will be Friday, 19 July 2013. Entries must be accompanied by a completed registration form and proof of payment.
