SUMMERHILL 4X4 OUTDOOR ADVENTURE AND FAMILY FUN DAY

Post by Totius »

Summerhill Prep School in Hazyview will be hosting its 12th Annual 4x4 Adventure and Family Fun Day on 4th June this year. Only 8 weeks away so book your entry now.

This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever and the event has attracted more exciting and valuable prizes than before, including the opportunity for one lucky competitor to go home with a set of 4 new tyres, sponsored by Supa Quick. The winner will be drawn at the prize-giving, allowing everyone a chance to win, regardless of how they do in the competition!

The new course designer has all sorts of tricks up his sleeve to make the event more challenging than in previous years and to put the competitors through their paces. And all the usual events remain as well – the blindfold challenge, the show stopper, the ladies event and, of course, the Windhoek Beer Tent with Big Screen Rugby.

The day will be filled with family-friendly and 4x4 related events including lifestyle and auto trade exhibitors, a Miss 4x4 Pageant, a wide selection of food, game and toys stalls and demonstrations, face-painting, a jumping castle, boeresport, children’s races and competitions. And, of course, a lot of tea and cake - plus those Carwash Babes again!

It’s a great day out for the family. 8 till midnight on 4th June at Natie’s Farm 3km from Hazyview on the Sabie road. Only R360/vehicle if entered before 25 May 2011. Cheap accommodation deals available for those travelling from afar.

To enter, to exhibit or for more information, call Billi Grey on 082 922 9626 or see http://www.summerhill.org.za" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Hurry! Space for 60 competitors only and selling out fast!

IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN : IT’S THE LOWVELD’S FAVOURITE 4X4 DAY!

SUMMERHILL 4X4 OUTDOOR ADVENTURE AND FAMILY FUN DAY
HAZYVIEW - 4TH JUNE 2011.

NOT LONG TO GO ...

Get ready for the biggest community event in the Hazyview calendar! Summerhill Prep School in Hazyview is hosting its annual SupaQuick 4x4 Adventure and Family Fun Day on 4th June. Book your entry now if you want to take part, and spectators, make a note in your diaries. You can expect a great day out, as always, on the banks of the Sabie River.

For spectators, there will be endless family-friendly thrills and spills, treats and eats. As well as the usual 4x4 events – the blindfold challenge, the show stopper and the ladies event – there is the Windhoek Beer Tent with Big Screen Rugby. The MPower FM Thunder Truck will be providing music and entertainment all day with live radio crossings and after the prize-giving there will be partying and music until midnight.

At 8am (entries from 7am, R30 per runner) there’s the Kiepview Conservancy Trail Run. A 4km teaser and an 8km tester through bush and farmland along the river. Every finisher wins a prize.

There will be further excitement throughout the day, for the young and the young-at-heart: helicopter flips (from only R200), microlight flights, a tea garden and tombola, marimbas, face-painting, puppet shows, boeresport, a mock river rescue by the Off-Road Rescue Squad (at 11am), a snake demonstration (1pm), a jumping castle and giant slide, a wide selection of food, games and toy stalls and demonstrations. There’s even going to be a hamburger-eating competition, sponsored by Wimpy

For the more grown up, there’s still all of the above plus wine-tasting (Hillcrest Estate, Elgin Vintners and Topiary Wines), outdoor and adventure exhibits, a flea market and, of course, those Carwash Babes again! And while you’re at it, there’s a chance to find out more about Summerhill and why it is such a special school.

For the 4x4 enthusiast, a new course designer with many years of 4x4 experience is designing a new broader-appeal layout which will offer something for everyone – challenging, tortuous and cunning but with some more easy-going sections for the less experienced. Entry fees have been reduced to only R250 (R150 if you are affiliated to the Lowveld 4x4 club) so book now to avoid disappointment. It is filling up fast. And don’t forget the ladies obstacle, sponsored by Spar. Ladies should enter on the day and will get their own ladies’ goodie bag and T-shirt.

All competition participants will receive a free breakfast, bags full of goodies and the chance to win exciting prizes including weekends away, magnums of wine, free meals in a variety of restaurants and much, much more. In addition the winners and losers will be put together into a grand draw giving everyone an equal chance to win a couple of high-value items, including a set of 4 tyres sponsored by Conti-Partners Thomas Tyres and a 2-night stay at Shishangeni Private Game Lodge worth over R9000.

It’s a great day out for all the family. 8 till midnight on 4th June at Natie’s Farm 3km out of Hazyview on the Sabie road. Spectators pay only R20 per adult and R10 per child. Cheap accommodation deals available for those travelling from afar.
