The day out was so great that my truck ended up at "Hoppy's".......serves me right for going Airbourne !!!! Was a brill day, some excellent dune driving, getting lost, lekker braai......I must just thank Petrus for towing me all the way out of the dunes (jis laaik the fortuna has power!

)...then towing me all the way to Hoppy's then taking me and Erika all the way back to Malmesbury

!!!! Thats what this club is all about

....also thanks to Rooi Kop for opening up at Hoppy's last night to get my truck in....thanks guys is well appreciated !!! Fortunately the breakdown happenend right at the end of our day, wasnt the only one, Ismails friend driving a Colt had a suspected blown head, so they called it a day early, and to SideKick wheres the pictures man !!!!!

well heres a couple of ones of me....

also to the guys who's permits I left at the gate, can you please pay Tertius (Tersmit). I waited until 0930 so I left them with the gate guard....thanks Stubs...

Well there was no structural damage, I think the front leafs took the pounding but they need to be retensioned or replaced with some OMES...it was running fine, then on the last flyby as I landed it was quite a heavy landing there was sort of a popping sound from the exhaust, and then it died, the engine turns, good compression, fuel pressure good, checked spark is still ok so someone reckons the timing could have been knocked out of sync or something....am keeping fingers crossed its nothing major...

just a big thanx to all the hilux boys for a really fun day in the dunes. had a blast :razz: , well apart for the over-heating.

a special thanx to Petrus who jumped to my rescue when coltie was boiling over, and for showing the "other" way out. i really appreciate your help man.

@ Stubbs: for 1stly showing me that my tires had waaaay to much air still

, 2ndly, for helping when she was .over-heating

as for the cracked head, luckily it was the head or a gasket. i spent the morning at Radiator King and the did lank tests (for free nogal) and turns out its the clutch of my fan that wasnt doing it's job so i pulled the van into the shop and its sorted now

R1k later :x those boys at radiator king were pretty cool.

i'll haveto take her out again this weekend to see what the new fan does

a special thanx to Maniac for the advice and for displaying some serious sand skills out there.
great job guys.

Stu, what Manie says makes a lot of sense. The battery could have cracked the dissy-cap, or even have whacked it out of shape... :problem: :problem: :problem:

no it was only this last one !~! and it was the last jump of the day that put me out of action !! Mr B I have been meaning to put a better battery clamp in there !!! I knew it had shifted as I could feel it knocking on the steering arm as I turned the steering wheel..!!!

mind you with the petrol going up another 43cents a litre at midnight tonight dont think I will be driving it that much !!!

and Thys I am really hoping it is just something simple, we did loosen the dizzy and try to see if the timing was out but it still wouldnt start....anyways lets see...
