Okay fellow Hilux'ers. The last week before this event has finally arrived. It rained a LOT this last night and morning, so if the wind does not come up for the rest of the week we can be looking forward to fairly moist compacted sand, which would be great for first timers in the sand and it also aids traction on those big climbs.

Where :
For those of you who have never been to Atlantis before here is a map of how to get there. If you are lucky enough to own a decent GPS then here is the co-ords for the Main Entrance as well. Main Gate - S33.59840 E18.44881.

If you can't see the map let me know and I will post another one. It happened in the past that I post stuff and others (usually those using IE web browsers) cannot see it.

What Time:
It would be ideal if we could meet at the main gate at approximately 8h00 on Saturday morning, but we all know traffic is a "female dog" and I am usually late (there I said it!

) but there are sometimes other guys who are later than me..

I know there are guys coming from a land far far away over the mountains so we will allow them some time to get there as well. Being such a big group the admin at the gate could take a while, so we can allow some time for the late-comers.

We should aim to be on the sand by about 9h00 otherwise we wont get through the programme for the day. There will be ample opportunity to open bonnets and discuss modifications and show off fancy ideas once we get inside.

Permits:
Coenie is still in the game to get permits, to date he had one request, but he is eagerly awaiting the others. Remember that deadline is Wednesday this week.

Others:
I am looking for a place where I can buy/rent/borrow some hazard tape. I know Wolffie said he had some but we cant use his entire supply, although we would appreciate it if you can supply us with some tape Leon.

Thank you guys for joining us on this the second official Western Cape Hilux 4x4 Club outing. Atlantis is a very nice venue if you want to experience sand driving, and for those more experienced guys who have been doing sand a lot, the dunes always holds a challenge here and there, trick is to find it. We'll try to make it more interesting by introducing a few games and some friendly rivalry just to get the adrenaline pumping. Allan (AEW Auto) was kind enough to sponsor some nice trophies for the winners and the runners up of each game. Thanks Allan. There is one big prize that we will give away on a lucky draw basis. Anybody else who would like to sponsor prizes, it will be appreciated and you will receive some free exposure on the Hilux4x4 Forum and Club website.

Programme:
08:00 Meet at the Main Gate / Deflate tyres / Do Admin
08:30 Get on the sand
09:00 Free driving to find a nice spot to set up the games
10:00 Fun 4x4 games
12:00 Some more free driving / Niel - Sand Boarding Demonstration
13:00 Prize Giving

This programme just a guideline, and we will most probably not keep to it, but hey, I have always wanted to draw up a programme like that!

We have some prizes for the winners of the games, so do your best, you might end up taking something home.

There is a certain Currie Cup Semi-Final taking place at Newlands on Saturday. being an event that does not come around all that often, I (and I am sure a few others) wont want to miss it for the world. The fact that I got 2 Main Stand tickets for the match has absolutely everything to do with it and unfortunately I will be leaving at about 14:00. In this spirit I want to ask you guys if you have flags/banners/caps/t-shirts/whatever of one of the participating teams to please bring it along and show your solidarity. Allan that scruffy Blou Bul keps of yours can come too.

Please drive safely to the venue, remember to bring hats, sunscreen and maybe a sweater or a jacket for in case the wind comes up. Also bring enough drinking water or cooldrinks and snacks so you dont go hungry along the way. Should any of you guys on the list not be able to make it please drop me an SMS or call me on o82-332-io87 to let us know. Leave the ego's at home and bring enough good humour and we'll make it a fun day together.

PS: GPS coordinations for the Main Entrance is posted earlier in this thread as well as a google earth map. If anybody else is still unsure of how to get there give me a call and we talk about it.
