Blooper of the Month

Post by ThysdJ »

How about we have a little "Blooper of the Month" competition? Please nominate fellow forum members or even yourself for this competition and we set up a poll and vote for a winner. Jurgen's little blooper a few weekends ago springs to mind for example. ( viewtopic.php?f=14&t=6696&p=74617#p74617 ) You can nominate somebody for getting stuck in a precarious position, lighting a smoke with a blow-torch and burning half his mustache off (if he comes from Pretoria) or anything else. The only condition is that it must be accompanied by a picture showing the blooper...

There are no prizes to be won, but I will open a "read only" thread where we will post the picture(s) of the winner and a small description of "WTH were you thinking" written by the winner telling us what happened and the lessons he learnt from his experience. At the end of the year we can bring out a calendar which we can sell and donate the money to charity...

Okay I will get the ball rolling. I nominate young Jurgen for this month's Blooper. In a moment's lapse of concentration he reversed down a hill and ended up with his Savuti Hilux on its side.

Forum Members only... otherwise we could cut and paste pics from other websites as well, and that's just not fair. Unless you want to admit that was actually YOU in the water there...

On the other hand if this was a Recovery of the Month competition, then Jack would be eligible. Nothing stops you from running such a competition as well...

You're supposed to put it unna-neaf, or onna back like the vehicle inna background! :D: 'Sides iffa your wife issa short, she canna see da tyre onna roof! :D:

Ja' there's a lot to be said for a tail mounted spare. With the old SFA the tail overhang is so long that an underslung spare does little to hamper the departure angle, so I don't have that problem.

Anyway, it's a fair nomination for 'bloopers', .... I was just pulling your leg.

Unna-neaf is da long range, send donations for the rear spare-wheel carrier.....having difficulty justifying the cost of one!

But ja, in time :!:
