Is nou erg opsoek na n snorkel.......

Hi Cobus, ons het nog net die water getoets en nog nie probeer om n "nuwe groep koop" te begin nie. Ek moet se die ouens wat geantwoord het het positief gereageer Ek sal met Pieter praat en hoor of hy dalk n snorkel groep koop wil bymekaar sit.

Koop die snorkels by N1 4x4 daar bo in Gangsters Paradise oor die counter vir nie baie geld nie. Ek het so een op (Airflow) en is heel happy met hom. Hulle is dieselfde as die wat Pieter laas verkoop het, en doen dieselfde ding as die 2 keer duurder Safari ens snorkels.

Maniac, ek het laas die snorkels by N1 4x4 gekry. As ek baie koop kry ek afslag en wat ek gedoen het is ek het my afslag 50/50 met die kopers gedeel.

As Niel said, do not wait for us to sniff out a deal. If you know of something first post it here so we can see how many people would be interested. If enough people are interested we can see if we can negotiate a discount for a group buy.

Hy het dit so n tydjie terug gepost, en het hom al gePM om te hoor of dit nog beskikbaar is. Volgens my is dit n goeie koop, en dit sal gaaf wees as ons dit saam kan koop, en so paar pitte te spaar op die alreeds goeie prys.

My probleem is net, ek sit in die uithoek van SA, maar sal verseker help as daar iets is wat gedoen moet word.

Cobus, ek vermoed Nick verkoop Bruce Tait se snorkels. Die ou het my gekontak om sy snorkels te bemark, hy moes nog vir Mark een gaan wys het in Krugersdorp, maar het toe nooit by Mark uitgekom nie. So rukkie daarna sien ek toe Nick het 'n post gemaak en toe los ek dit vir eers.

As daar genoeg belangstelling is kan ek altyd weer by Bruce hoor. Dan moet ons ook besluit of ons hulle s'n wil he of die AirFlow snorkels wat ek by N1 4x4 kan kry.

Die uithoeke van die aarde is nie so erg, die vorige keer wat ek 14 snorkels op die manier gekoop het, het ek partye ouens s'n vir hulle gepos of ge-courier.

Rahoo 4x4 (http://www.rahoo4x4.com/) does a lot of "original Chinese" stuff, e.g. SFA 4Y snorkel for US$215 but they aren't interested in shipping single units. I know nothing about import/export, duties etc? Would a collective direct purchase be feasible?

Clinton I will find out. Problem with Chinese is you normally have to take at least 1,000 per order. Shipment on snorkels are high because they take up a big volume.

Clinton, thanx for the link. Now I just have to find out what transport and import tax will cost.
Does anybody know freight people who can arrange the shipment. Last time I imported goods from CHina I was still staying in Pretoria and I used guys at Kempton.

The Chinese prices are amazing, I think we all know snorkels are a ripp off in South Africa. My gut feeling always was that it can't cost more than R200 to manufacture one. Well, these chinese guys claim that it is made from the same plastic as safari snorkels.

Price in Chinaland for SFA snorkel is $39 (about R300) for IFS and new Hilux about R340 and R420. But remember then freight and taxes must still be added.
Those little hoods at the top, I saw some guys who built their own snorkels bought some of these at ridiculous prices, they cost the big huge total of $5.88 for the 77mm and $6.60 for the 85mm (thats about R50 each)

Another problem I see is that they only have left hand side snorkels for my model (1999 2.7) and in SA only the KZ-TE had it on the left. But I am corresponding with them and will let you know as soon as I have more info.

QUESTION: The new Hilux (Vigo) are all of them's snorkels on the right or do do they have on the left as well?

All the petrol one's are on the righ don't know about the diesel's

Mark is still in Moz, but I'm pretty sure he has one fitted to his D4D. Must be a pic of it here somewhere.
