“Ons kon net by drie watergate water pomp.

Maak jy meer watergate, gaan jy meer olifante hê.”

An extremely sad story to say the least. Humans put the fences up that restrict these animals from migrating in the drier months. This can be managed by orderly culling and the inmplementation of more waterholes, but is seems as though NWR aren't too interested in doing this...does anyone know offhand what are the park entry and camping fees are ? surely this money should be made available, along with a gov subsidy to ensure theres enough petrol etc..

Shame on you NWR

Hi James,
Accoding to my knowledge and the Khaudum information that we got from the parksboard, in December 2010, Khaudom National Park is the only park in Namibia that doesn't have any fences / borders.
It's location is on the North East side of Namibia and these elephants have access to Angola / Zambia / Botswana and Namibia.
It is also the only park in namibia that they have not upgraded, as they wanted the "rustic" look.

So ver ek weet is als weer normaal.
