On 50/50 tonight there will be a contribution of a Cobra and Adder having a go at each other

Ok, the 2m Cape Cobra swallowed the puff adder (approx 1m) but the puffy did put up a fight

That Cape Cobra probably never made it off the mountain either ..... if it had been bitten, it would have certainly died some time later, I think.

yes, I have been up TM a few times and never saw them and then you see this. I will watch my step from now on when walking around TM

The cobras I would'nt worry too much about .... not that prolific, and most of the time they will give way and clear off before you even get to them. But the puffy is a different story! ... he'll just lie there, very bold, won't move,

but stand on him!! .... lightning fast to strike!

Not for a puffy ... they will rarely ever bite for the hell of it .... they know better than to waste venom on things they cannot eat. However, if you stand on him, mess with him or do anything (wittingly or un-wittingly) that causes him to feel threatened, he won't stand back either. They prefer to strike backwards, so don't think you're safe by trying to grab him from behind. I have no fear of snakes, but rather a healthy respect for them.
