If no room in Richtersveld is available I am considering Aussenkehr Nature Reserve and of course adding Ai-Ais and Fish River Canyon.

Any advice or ideas??

Got a camping site at Norotshama River Resort 50km north of Noordoewer. :beach:

Not expensive at all.

Norotshama almost gave me a heart attack, first quoted me for a chalet and not for camping. R1,700-00 for the night.

From Norotshama we go to Richtersveld for one night. And then onto Hondeklipbaai for 2 nights camping.

Van watter kant kom jy?
As jy van die noorde kom verby die Visrivier, moet jy definitief stop by die Canyon Roadhouse.Hulle het 'n meneer breakfast.
 Ek dink ek moet iets gaan eet, want ek dink net aan kos :shifty:

Hi Members,

Has anyone done the trip below:

Vioolsdrif - Aussenkher - Fish/Orange Confluence - Sendlingsdrift

It goes all along the Orange around the Northern side of Richters.

I am considering going that way around into Richters.

Just want to know if the road is OK and what T4A has to say?

Thanks

Grumbles

Thanks Pieter,

I see on Google Earth there are some very narrow sections close to the river, about 20km from Sendlingsdrift.

The other thing I was concerned about is of course SAND, seeing that the road does follow the river so closely especially to the West of the Fish/Orange confluence and Witblits being a 4x2.

Plan to go November.

Anymore info that anyone has will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Grumbles

Heidrich from Hondeklip Bay go down the west Coast through the eco-park where you can also spend a night among the many campsites or just keep going south all along the coast if you are self sufficient until you get to the salt mine, soon after which you will get to the tar road. I cannot remember the places names down there but any reasonable map will tell you. There is nothing below the eco-park. The camping is wild free & beautiful. Two places with thick sand in the eco park, so use common sense, but they are downhill from north to south.

Indrukwekkend.

Ok ek was nie tot by sendelingsdrif.
