Hilux 2.4 4x4 D/C Raider (1996)

Post by Johann Prinsloo »

Hi there

I asked you guys some advice on which vehicle to buy. (2.2 1990 or 2.4 1996) The prices were way different..

Anyway, I took the 2.4. I will get it next week. Yesterday I took my hilux expert mate to have a look and we realized that the vehicle has OME, which the owner did not state!
So, it has everything I want and more, from b/b, r/b, tb, long range tank, Brospeed conv, 2 spare wheels, etc. to a/c, central locking, tracker etc.
I am very very excited.
Can any of you guys tell me more about OME suspension and also about my new vehicles capabilities?
I am looking forward to many trips and use ou of this HILUX. I already downloaded the manual for services and general work on it.
What will be the first things I check/service/change on my new Hilux?

Thanks for the advice so far.
Hope you can keep helping me.

Juba.

Hi Johan,

Congratulations! I'm sure you will be thrilled by your "new" vehicle!

The OME is a definite bonus, saved you over R11,000 and you now have virtually an "Africa ready" Hilux.

Can't wait to see the pics :P

Seems your choice was the correct one. 8) The OME suspension will give you a very nice drive that you will not believe you can get from a Hi lux.

If I may ask what was the price at the end of the day.

Okay cool Johann!! Congratu :!: bloody :!: lations!!

Now before you start taking it apart and rebuilding it I would suggest getting to know your vehicle first by doing some trails and see what it is capable of. Play with it for a couple of months and then the Hilux will let you know modifications are required. Chances are you wont have to change a thing!!

WELL DONE Johann,

I agree with Kaspaas. She is already ... READY.
Only priority at his stage is a thorough service. Top to bottom, inside out, and most importantly by a Toyota Hilux Pro (not necessarily a dealer !)
Lube, breathing & general check. (Is anything loose or obviously out of place)

Then get in , go & enjoy !

(Just take is EASY until you get to know this new 'lady' & you become ... ONE.)
