Getting my D4D!

Post by Die$eL »

Hi all,

Based on the feedback on my previous post about a comparison between the 2700i VVti, 2.5 D4D and 3.0 D4D i think i made the right choice.

I'm getting a 3.0 D4D shortly.

2006, 123 000kms, Bluetooth, PDC front & rear, DVD, GPS, MP3, nudge bar, canopy, tow bar, rubberized bin etc
Paying R185k (pic attached)

The bakkie belongs to my cousin's husband who passed away in January. I think he may have been a member on this forum but don't know his username. On the one hand i'm sad to take it coz i'll always be reminded of him, and on the other, i'm glad to have a reminder of him around.

I have been looking into the SAC conversions. They claim with chip & tuning it will increase the power to around 140KW. Cost is R5900

Anyone done this conversion? Is it worth it?

Congrats!!!

Would not dot the SAC rather go to Dastek and chip only. Around R3300.00 for chip and dyno. 0123470102 (Dastek Pta)

Thanks Oooms. Do they use the existing wiring harness etc and just plug in a new chip or replace it?

Uys - i will look into the bash plate a little later. not gonna be doing much off-roading yet. will be going around december or so and will give you a shout.

They tap into the harness as far as I have seen. But you need keen eyes to see where they do it.

Congrats on the new Lux! She sounds like a beaut.

I would not go to SAC, I have heard too many unhappy customers, you can get the Dastek Plug & Play diesel chips, they simply plug into the std wire harness and can easily be removed. I'm sure an exhaust also helps :)
