George, can you post a pic. Is it so clear that you can use the spot without removing the cover?
Can one buy these spots separately or can one buy the lenses separately. My one spot's lens has a small hole in.

Hi Piet
Have a look at F_D's toys.His got a picture there.viewtopic.php?f=2&t=77&start=0
They are transparent and you keep them on when using.I think it is a very clever idea.
You buy then seperatly at Midas. They go for R98.50 each.

What size fuse do you have on your spots? Mine has a 20 AMP fuse and it seems as if blows like once a month. I could not see a short circuits on the wiring, all I can think off is that it is too small

Hi Piet,

Midas can indeed supply you with clear lens covers. I had posted the part numbers before, but it does depend on what size spots you have. The photo referred to viewtopic.php?f=2&t=77&start=0 has the clear lens covers fitted - you can't even see them!

What size globes do you have in your spots? A 20A fuse would certainly be strong enough for two 55W globes, but marginal if there are two 100W globes wired to just one fuse. Start-up current will weaken the fuse before eventually blowing it. If you have 100w globes and both go through the same fuse, then 25A should suffice. If that blows, then you have an intermittent short circuit somewhere along the line.

Pieter

Here's a link to a write up I did and Eric moderated  on wiring of spotlights. Can you PDF it and put it on here as well.

Hi Piet

From your bakkies picture it seems like hella commets. Contact Midas in Parow (they have the warehouse) the other might not have and will have to order from Parow for you. When I bought mine 2 months ago it was R 68 per cover.
