Swopping my Sfa for kzte 3.0 diesel

Somebody wants to swop me with his 2002 KTZE 3.0 diesel? for my SFA?
Sounds good! How is the KTZE fuel consumption? I have read elsewhere on forum
that it gets from 7 - 10?

I personally think that would be a mistake. Yes the SFA might be heavy on fuel, and you've got some issues to sort on yours ... it's heavier than it should be, BUT for the rest the maintenance costs are low and problems are few. With a diesel you can expect high maintenance costs IRO injectors, diesel pump, turbo and cylinder head issues.

Think again.

I think the most important aspect here: WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO USE YOUR HILUX FOR MOST?

If it's serious off-roading, competitions, playing around, etc., nothing beats an SFA (IMHO).

If, however, you're looking for an overlander, long trips or day-to-day worker, the comfort of the IFS cannot be made up for by the SFA's off-road capabilities (Once again IMHO). I've never owned an IFS, but I have lots of friends that do, and the ride in the SFA is just not the same.

SO, as I've said in a couple of other threads - if you want to have the best of both worlds and can afford it, get one of each (we saved up a lot to be able to do that). Otherwise, decide what your truck's main purpose will be.

Last point - because they're both Hiluxes, neither of them are bad, which is good!

Same here, went from KZ 4X4 to SFA 4x4 and...... LOVING IT!

Stem saam met Oxydog, hang af wat jy wil doen. Teen ongeveer 115/120 km/h is my sfa nie veel swaarder as die my KZ nie. Selfde dag, dieselfde spoed, ons ry agtermekaar was die brandstof verbruik vanaf Kaap oor Upington tot Keetmans nie groot verskil nie, nie meer as hoogstens 5 liter per vulstasie nie, soms maar 2 liter. Met die sfa doen ek al die plaaswerk, maar is rerig 'n pyn op die langpad en top spoed is nie meer as 140 nie, terwyl die KZ cruise lekker teen 145 .

There must be something wrong with my KZ, because I have not experienced any of the problems that people mention are so common on them. I service it myself every 5 000km and it costs me around R550 to do it (Oil, oil filter, diesel filter). I replace the air filter every 10 000km and that's not that expensive either.

I agree KZ good lux if you not into serious 4x4ing. Just service it and you be very happy. Dont let the petrol heads sway you. i would swop mine for KZ, as i dont do much serious 4x4ing anymore that requires the SFA superioty

Sfa v/s Ifs, if your Hilux is problem free, keep it rather.
