A magnet will stick to Stainless or mild steel but not to alu. Look at the places where the coating has rubbed off for rust, if there is no rust it is probably stainless.
Happy trails

Hi...... found out it is mild steel, had a buddy dunk the tank in his swimming pool and me blowing my brains out. Found bubbles coming out!!!!! was not from the tank.
So it could be at the connections that it might be dripping!!!!
