Iriteerende suspensie geraas

Post by coetzer94 »

Hallo

Hi Guys.
Have had this a few times and it can also come from the fixed eye bush on the front end of the leaf spring. If you put your hand around the fixed eye and get someone to jump up and down on the tow bar you will actaully feel the noise plus hear it.
Remove the bolt zap some copper slip and it should be good it tends to rust onto the slevee of the bonded bush especially if you been through water etc.

Regards
Darrell

Agree with Daryl, most times it's the spring hanger bush .... would have said so earlier but thought that it might lead to the guys ignoring the shackle bushes, which are just as important to grease. The thing with the spring hanger side is that movement is much, much less than the shackle side so it tends to 'stiffen up' more readily.

Chock the front wheels, jack up the rear so that the tyres are barely touching the ground and remove, grease, replace the pins one at a time. The shackle end is usually no problem but the front (hanger end) can sometimes be a bit more challenging to line up - a slight adjustment to the jack height and rolling of the wheel sorts it out. ;-)
