Hilux bed and rear speakers Questions

Post by okest13 »

Is there an online resource that might help me find an OEM bed for my '89 hilux? Also, were there any models with rear speakers included? Where would they have been located?

Thank you!

Hi Simon. By "bed" do you mean the load bin? These are really scarce nowadays and one would have to just put the 'feelers' out there and check with scrapyards. Even then, the chances of getting one in reasonable condition are even slimmer.

AFAIK there were no '89 models with rear speakers and if there were in the DC version, they would most likely have been in the rear doors.

Thank you! I think that's what I mean,.. pardon my american vocab hehe. The rear end of my truck has been heavily modified into a JDM firetruck, so literally any, load bin, would be better.

As I see it you have tree options - find a used replacement unit that's in decent enough condition to be salvaged, restore the current one or replace it with a home-built tray like the Aussies use.

Post some pics if you can. :winkx:

No, you can post them right here. If you're doing a re-build and want to document it with pics included, that would be great and I would suggest to start a new thread here ..... viewforum.php?f=3
