I have a 1992 4Y with a Power steering box of a 70 Series Cruiser.
The Steering however has now become so loose, that it has about 15 cm, play. (measured on the outside of the steering wheel)
Even with the original steering box, the steering was very loose. I have tried every trick in the book. The Power steering was the best solution, but not anymore.
Has anyone advice?

Re: 4Y Steering
Trace the play. It's either in the linkage to the power steering box, the box itself, the ball on the Pitman arm from the box, the draglink, the steering arms or the tie rod ends.
Jam each of these in succession working from the steering wheel and see where the problem lies.
