Who Do You Insure Your Bakkie With?
I am in the process of buying a 96 hilux 4x4 dc. Who gives the best insurance deal and can I insure extra's on it? Your guys input would be greatly appreciated!
With each replacement of parts, a car slowly becomes Chinese.

Hi Luke,
Haven't been on the FORUM for quite a while, but also noticed that nobody has responded to your question.
The 'best insurance deal' will obviously depend on your risk profile, especially with regard to any claims during the past 5 years.
Extras on our vehicles may indeed be insured over and above!. Email me your current insurance details on your Lux and I'll see what I can do. Currently I pay under R500 pm on my 2004 KZ with many extras...comprehensive cover private use.

Luke I am with Santam. You can specify "extended 4x4 cover", this provides recovery and some extras - best to check with them to make sure what it covers now. I also specified my camper setup, had to submit a letter from approved installer to validate the insured value of the various items I wanted to specify.

Re: Who Do You Insure Your Bakkie With?
Was looking at my insurance premium today while doing some changes to profile.
I'm with outsurance.
Premium about R550 / month. But this is based i have tracker active which is about R120 / month i think.
But the shocker was the retail value they attach to my vehicle.
R144K.
Where in the world you gonna find a D4D for that price... what do they base it on?
