Hilux Vigo Cosmetic Query

Post by Gielie01 »

Good Day to all

I have been reading and searching through the forum somewhat and have not come to an exact conclusion.

The Vigo shape hilux had a number of "cosmetic" changes.
I am in the process of fixing a lux i bought from a salvage operator.

Now, this is an early model 05/06 however i do like the look of the later generation Vigo's with the clear lights and or legend 45 lights.

My question is, what all entailed these cosmetic changes?
Did the font fenders or the wheel arches change?

Would these light be bolt in to the fenders? as if my eyes are not fooling me, the corners of the headlights on the late models seem to look different.

Any advise and or help would be appreciated

Regards
Chris

I know the rear ones will fit 100% . As for the front , you will need to replace the bonnet , fender, grille and possibly the bumper too.

Yes the latest facelift with the wide scoop is completely different so it would mean the bonnet, front grille, front bumper and probably the fenders too.

Looking good.

So by me replacing the whole front end...
Both fenders
Both headlights
Grill
Cradle
Bonnet
Not doing bumper as I'm fitting a replacement.

What all else should I replace in the front.

I am doing the tail light's and mirrors at the same time.

Thank you

The facelifts were cosmetic so the underpinnings are the same. As a matter of fact my 2006 model has provision for the external temperature probe behind the grill even though no temperature display was installed in the instrument cluster and it only cam out in later models.

Sounda like you have it all planned out. I still have to do tailllights and I am thinking about the mirrors.

A keen eye would still be able to tell that its an early model vigo. As i still have the aerial on the A-pillar.

Next step would be to look at refurbing or replacing my dashboard skin. Its seen better days in its life. Possibly change it to the favelift spec to match the outside.
