KZTE sump oil leak

I have an oil leak in my KZTE 4x4 DC, mechanic insists that the suspension must be dropped, seems a bit extreme.
anybody else have this experience?

The front axle is in the way of the sump. You will not be able to remove the sump if the front axle is in place.
