Post by HiluxJunkie »

Guys;

I want to know if my standard 2.4 petrol DC with its 31x10.5x15 tyres is suitable for dune driving ?

One of the best, its a petrol afterall.

I love sand driving but dont like to rev the bakkie to bits to use it like a quad, chasing high inclines.

Just the older Diesels that dont have a rev range like petrol...

Hi Bosvark,

I had a 4Y 2.2 Hilux and used to drop my tire pressure to 1 bar for general beach driving.

Will you not have any problems with sand between the tire and the rim if you drop them to 0.6 bars?

By all means drop the pressure to 0.6 bar, whatever you do, just dont make any sharp turns, the tyre will debead for sure, if not you will end up with sand between the tyre and the rim. Been there, done that. :)
