Where to buy and what price am I looking at?

Enige raad sal goed wees, veral omdat ek myself uit die Nissan stal uit bekeer het.... Haha, moes op die harde manier leer.... One life..... Drive a Toyota!

Wat is die grootste bande wat jy op die Fortuner kan fit na die efs suspensie?

Hi Tallies,

Also got a aTuna and looking at a tank. Northern offroad do a 42L or 70L tank. Price the same. R5415-00 all in.(Vat, fitting etc.) Front runner 40L @ R3550-00
Excl fitting. 70L tank you have to remove the spare wheel. I got OME suspension ( bought it with the suspension fitted.) very happy with the handling.Tyres, standard 265x70x16 BF/ATs. Hope this helps.

You can fit 265/75/16's with little effort. Have a look at my wife's swingarm fitted on her Tune here: Contact Jacques, he did a good job for a descent price.

Hey OOOMS

Quick question about that rear swing arm of yours....is it just the angle of the picture or is your spare rather high and partially blocking your rear view?

Thanks

Ronnie, it does block the drivers view, but then we never use the rear view mirror as my and my wife's vehicles are loaded with goods anyway.

With the design and similar one's seen it can not really fit any lower, or you would have to redesign the latch bracket.

Sorry for the late reply, I was away on holiday and stumbled across it :wink2:

Hi there, sorry I know this is an old post but just bought a 2007 Tuna V6 4x4 and educating myself on the Tuna. I must also fit a long range tank as I know she is more thirsty than me. The only problem I have is that I had 2 spare tires on my Hi-Lux and know it can be a shlep to open the swing arm before you can open the back door. Isn't there any other options available in order to fit a bigger tank ? My second problem with a swing arm is that you have to fork out more money to fit a back bumper also if you want the swing arm. I had a custom build back bumper on my Hi-Lux so would like to know if this was the reason I battled so much with the swing arms ? Some days the pin that swivels rusted up so bad I had to scrum the swing arm open. Any help on this subject would be much appreciated.

With a 40 litre tank you can leave your spare below the car. It does look a bit like a worshond with its nuts dragging close to the ground, but it is actually fine. If you are planning on doing serious offroad, I would move it to the swingarm. Alternatively, you could probably have a custom built 100 liter tank made for the R11k and R5k you would be spending on aftermarket parts....
